Akuffo Addo, Mahama And Bawumia Sends Condolences To Families Of ‘Black Friday’ Accidents.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, his vice and the former President have sent their condolences to the saddened families of the victims of 22nd March 2019 double road accident.

Speaking at the end-of-year WASSA of the Ghana Police Service, President Akufo-Addo consoled the families of the deceased saying; “My condolences to all the families and loved ones of the deceased. May the Almighty grant their souls peaceful rest.”

Dr. Bawumia also tweeted: “My wife and I extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of those who sustained various levels of injuries, and others that lost their lives in the tragic road accidents which have occurred today in Ghana.

“As a country we need to put in place appropriate measures to drastically reduce the occurrence of such mishaps.“We wish the injured speedy recovery and may the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace,” he added.

Former President John Dramani Mahama in a facebook post charged authorities to fix the canker before it takes more lives.

“Our roads are becoming killing fields and road safety continues to be a major challenge. All stakeholders on road safety – the licensing authority, drivers’ unions, Police, Road safety commission, and Government – must not relent in their efforts to make our roads safer,” he wrote on Facebook.

“My condolences and that of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) go to the families of the deceased persons. Our prayers are also with those injured and we beseech God to grant them a speedy recovery,” the NDC flagbearer added

The tragic road accidents claimed close to a 100 lives with many still currently receiving treatments in hospitals.
