In a world full of selfishness, a watchman has shown real humanity by rejecting a house from his boss as a parting gift after years of servitude and requested he make a borehole for his community instead…

Musa Usman, a watchman of 25 years to Mr. V. Verghese, the Managing Director of a pharmaceutical company’s professional relationship came to an end when Musa decided to quit his job so he can spend more time with his family.

Mr Verghese, an Indian businessman who was so pleased with how Musa had ran the affairs of his home whenever he let it to him for over 2 decades decided to reward him with a house as a parting gift.

Although Musa lives in a detached house with his family, he shockingly rejected the kind offer and suggested something even more generous, asking his boss to rather make a community borehole for his community who have an issue of inadequate water supply.

Inaugurating the boreholes, Mr Verghese said: “Musa has served me diligently for 25 years. We would travel to India and leave our house under his care and behold, we would meet everything intact. He is indeed an honest Nigerian.”

Musa stands firm in his decision and says he does not regret rejecting the house.
